Follow These Simple Tips to Install and Care for Your New Vinyl Decal

We offer to install your decal for you, if possible, for a small fee. Allowing us to install your decal will give you warranty (length of warranty depends on the type of vinyl you choose). However, if you choose to install it yourself, follow these instructions carefully.
Step 1: Clean The Surface
Our vinyl decals can adhere to almost any smooth surface. However, the surface must be clean of any debris, dust, oils, etc. Generally, we recommend using a simple alcohol wipe or wetting a clean towel with rubbing alcohol and wiping the surface clean. Try to avoid using water or water-based cleaners. Let the surface dry completely, applying heat from a hair dryer if needed.
IMPORTANT: Before attempting to apply the decal to the surface, make sure the surface is completely dry! Many smooth surfaces such as glass has pores and can store moisture even once it looks dry. Any moisture on the surface will make it almost impossible to get the decal to stick to the surface and possibly ruin the adhesive on the vinyl.
Step 2: Ensure Your Decal Sticks to the Transfer Paper
The transfer paper is the film placed on top of your decal allowing you to pull it from the paper backing and place it on your chosen surface, keeping proper placement of separated pieces of vinyl. Do this by placing your decal on a flat, smooth surface, facing up. Using a credit card or straight edge hard card, run the card over the decal 2 - 3 times applying slight pressure.
Step 3: Separate Your Decal From the Paper Backing
Slowly pull the transfer paper away from the paper backing, ensuring your decal sticks to the transfer paper. This may require carefully peeling back the paper backing at the same time if the decal has not properly stuck to the transfer paper. Do this step with patience and carefully, ensuring the parts that have pulled from the paper backing do not come in contact with any other surface until the decal is fully removed from the backing.
Step 4: Align Your Decal to the Surface You Have Chosen
While holding both ends of the transfer paper with the sticky side facing down, carefully align your decal with the surface you are applying it to. This will be the position your decal will stick on the surface, so be sure to align it properly. Take your time with this and get it perfect to your liking. Once your decal is aligned, place one end of the transfer paper on the surface while holding up the remaining, stopping it from sticking to the surface. The only part that should be stuck at this step is the very edge of the transfer paper.
Step 5: Tack Down Your Decal to the Surface
Using a credit card or straight edge hard card, slowly tack down the transfer paper to the surface. Start at the end you tacked down in step 4 while holding up the remaining. Slowly push the transfer paper down working your way from one end to the other. Once your decal is completely tacked down, pass your hard card over the entire surface another 2 -3 times to ensure all air bubbles have been pushed out. Don't be too concerned if you have small bubbles, these will flatten out as the vinyl cures to the surface over the next 30 days.
Step 6: Remove the Transfer Paper
Starting at one corner, slowly peel up the clear transfer paper. While peeling, keep the angle very low and as close to the surface as possible, ensuring your decal stays stuck to the surface as you go. Take your time with this step to ensure your decal does not lift from the surface with the transfer paper.
Show It Off!
Now that you have successfully installed your decal, show it off and enjoy! Decals offer you the ability to express yourself and decorate whatever you choose to place them on! If you are happy with your decal, be sure to leave us a positive review and tell all your friends about us!

Tips For Making Your Decal Look Good for a Long Time

  • Allow the adhesive time to cure to the surface for at least 72 hours by not touching it, rubbing it, or messing with it. This will ensure a strong adhesion to the surface for a long time.
  • Clean your decal with a wet cloth, avoiding soap, chemicals, and products that can degrade the adhesive and cause it to fade.
  • Avoid high pressure water.
  • Avoid scrubbing and scratching the vinyl, it is not indestructible!
  • The vinyl can peel up if there is anything rubbing on the edges of it too much, try to let it be and avoid scraping the edges.
IMPORTANT: If you installed your decal on a vehicle, off road vehicle, or anything that will stay outdoors; avoid high pressure car washes. This is especially important for the first 72 hours after install.
